Gusts can push those elements toward crews, intensify temperatures, and shift conditions from controllable to incredibly dangerous in moments. This can lead to rapid fire growth, backdraft, or flashover, making it the primary safety concern in windy conditions. That’s why ventilation must be coordinated tightly with suppression actions, winds and directions monitored, and crews protected with properly placed hoselines and escape routes. While electrical hazards from rooftop equipment or other issues like pests or shingle color may exist in general, they do not represent the critical wind-related safety risk here.
